ah the rewriting process

Thinking about what's coming up next, publishing-wise, and honestly it's anyone's game. Anyone except probably the third Aughts Boys book--probably? The thing is, with my rotating to-do list and rotating times whether I end up doing shit or not, it's entirely possible that one month I could write fifty pages of, say, the third Aughts Boys book, but jack shit on the second Vendettic book, and then suddenly this Aughts Boys book is closest to publication.

But this is what I'm rewriting currently:

Like Hell. Standalone--unsure whether it'll be a novella or a novel as of yet. Not technically a true crime-based one, but it has a lot of true crime-y elements. Currently at 1550 words. First paragraph:

Drew is trouble.

Sacrifice. Vendettic #2. Currently at 22128 words. First paragraph:

Danny doesn’t even give Niko time to put his shit away before he says, “It’s a good thing that you’re back, because we start our tour with XXXmass next weekend.”

Morph Suit Murderer. Abnormal Murders #2. Currently at 3705 words. First paragraph:

When Justine Hoffman saw the headline in the local newspaper, she didn’t mean for her heart to skip a beat. It wasn’t a fear-skip, either—no, this was straight up excitement, this was straight up anticipation.

Son of Perdition. Pentalogy of Hell #5. Currently at 46306. Not showing the first paragraph because only book one has been published as of right now. The reason why I'm rewriting both book two and book five at this point is because... book two was rewritten so long ago that I need to rewrite it again, but books 3-5 are more recent. So... once book two is published, books three&four are coming pretty fast after.

Right or Wrong. Aughts Boys #3. Currently at 867 words. First paragraph:

Luke Mikkelson was leaving the bridge empty-handed, but fishing before the first day of school was more of a tradition than a time where he really expected much—and anyway, as he got older, he was wondering how long he’d be able to fish under there without the police telling him to move along. To tell the truth, Luke wasn’t exactly sure if it was illegal to fish under the bridge; it just felt like something that he maybe shouldn’t be doing.

Royal Blood. Tinon #2. Currently at 11885 words. First paragraph:

Alessandra burst into her room, holding a sheaf of papers in one hand. She waved it triumphantly. “I have notes and marks for the new class of guards coming up!”

Forty Days. Pentalogy of Hell #2. Currently at 36023 words. First paragraph:

Juliet had to give him credit for one thing—when it came to getting out of class and meeting her in the unisex bathroom on the third floor, Allan Carson was faster than just about anyone she knew. Part of this was probably because he’d puked in every class at some point when a teacher wouldn’t let him leave. Part of it was, also, probably because he just didn’t give a shit anymore. Which was worrying. But it was nice when she could send a text that she was in the unisex bathroom and would really appreciate someone who wasn’t going to treat her like a second-class citizen and heard his knock about two minutes later.

So that's where we're at currently? Just looking at this, probably, Forty Days is next, then Sacrifice, then Royal Blood. But I have zero clue! I wrote five pages of Morph Suit Murderer yesterday and jack shit else, so we'll see!
