kill me now spring, just kill me now

I don't get sick often. I really don't. I managed to make it all through the last winter without getting more than a sore throat a couple of days, I haven't been puking-flu in actually five years. I get seasonal allergies, but normally I start taking allergy pills in like March, long before the snow melts and the pollen starts fucking me up, but I must've missed a day or something, because dear god just kill me now. I get to be such a baby when I'm sick since I'm not sick often. I'm pretty sure this is just allergies, like, I just forgot a pill, because it came on suddenly and it feels like allergies. I'm just. Mad about it. That's what happens when I get sick. I get mad about it. I get mad that I can't breathe and that I got all this crap in my nose and I'm just mad. It's like, it's not even hot outside to make this any better. Normally by this time we're in the 70s and 80s. 60s. And it's been raining so much our roads ar

all the cons of a new computer with the same shitty keyboard

So my hard drive fucked off to not-working-ville a couple days ago. You know this if you follow me on literally any social media, because I have not shut up about it since, because it was an actual tragedy, and I'm mad about it. I didn't lose a ton of writing; just what I'd done since my regular Sunday back-up, and the thing died on Tuesday, so that's only two days' worth. So that wasn't too bad. What was bad was the three dozen prefilmed, edited videos I had done, which are just never going to see the light of day ever because I don't even have the raw footage anymore, so, no Parkland review, no Let's Talk School Shooting Books, no Tommyknockers Movie Discussion, et cetera. All of it? No more. But I've complained enough about that, let's complain about other things regarding this. It is like having a new computer, having a brand-new hard-drive. Got to set-up Windows again. Now I have Office 2019 instead of Office 2016-that-I've-been-puttin

guess what we're drafting again

I don't think it's a secret that the first draft is my absolute favorite part of the writing process. If I didn't want to get published, I'd just write all first drafts, all the time, never rewrite, never revise, none of that. Just first drafts. And sometimes my first drafts turn out pretty solid, writing-wise, when I really know what I'm doing (my latest trashy horror novel, which I do want to rewrite... very soon, once I finish with my WM3 rewrite which is, coincidentally, the other recent first draft that is decently solid), mostly they're... not. I mean, mostly my first drafts are glorified outlines. I had this idea that I'd only write a new first draft every two rewrites, or revisions, or what have you. But like, it turns out that I can draft while I do other things? So basically I'm doing another first draft, and I'm like... why am I not writing a first draft all the time? I'm up for a job right now that would give me some free time som

i did it, guys, i got a spotify

This doesn't mean I got rid of my cassettes, or that my portable music still isn't cassettes, because that would be WRONG, that just means Amazon Prime was being a bitch, and also I was planning on stopping paying for it when the renewal date comes around because that's like 120$ i don't want to spend for, honestly, at this point, mostly music, and also I was sick of dealing with YouTube for when I want to listen to music in the shower. Because, like, I use my phone for shower music, I ain't lugging my big tape recorder in there to plug it in so that I can listen to a tape out loud. I will say, I do like it. I like that they make playlists for me. I like that they let me listen to "Master of Puppets", which Amazon Prime Music didn't let me do, because that and like, "St. Anger" were the two Metallica albums it didn't have. I also like that now, because I'm not just hitting play on what was, honesty, my massive Amazon Prime Music l

adulthood looms

I graduated college on Saturday. Now I am the proud owner of a piece of paper that says I have a Bachelor's in English, as good as that does. I fucked up the walking back to my chair because I wasn't paying attention and didn't go all the way around, but everyone's nice enough that nobody mentioned it, and I was still after the people I was originally after, so it's fine. Talked to a person I haven't talked to in a while and now we talk to each other again so that's pretty all right. Yesterday I started applying for jobs. I'm going for a town that's about twenty miles away from the place I went to college in, forty miles from my childhood home. Rent's cheap and I like it there so I figure, what the hell, I'll just go for that. I forgot how long it took to apply for jobs, even if you already have the resume and everything prepared. It took me two hours yesterday and I didn't even fully apply for two of the three I went for, because the
